If only... I could... enlighten... you
let you see...you...through my eyes
Would you...could you... embrace...this view
not be burdened...tethered...by their lies
I wonder...would this...free you
help you...to see you...your own worth
The lies they tell...confine...they do
open your eyes...your heart... to truth
Inside you lies...true beauty...dear
a light...that shines...right on... through
Just take...that step...escape the fear
you'll be surprised...what you can do
Self doubt...humiliation...all the pain
to hold you...down... plants their seed
Next you... question...if you've gone...insane
all weapons used...just to sate...their greed
The lies... give nothing...but...blame
tell you...everything's...all your fault
They'll never want...to end...their game
it is you...that must...call it to...a halt
If only...I could...enlighten...you
let you see...you...through my eyes
Won't you...can't you...embrace...this view
not be burdened...tethered..by their lies

There are many kinds of abuse. Bruises on the outside...as horrible as they are...heal so much faster then the ones implanted on the soul. Please...find your way out...there is a way.
There are two women in my life that have inspired me to write this.You know who you are. I have been there....there is a way out.
I love you both and I believe in your power to win.

Oh my god you have no idea how much this is exactly what I needed to hear... see... whatever. :P I've never been what you would call abused, not really anyway, but let me tell you, you had the perfect timing with this. This was great and your comment at the end was so true. I HATE guys that abuse women its so cowardly. Thnx for writing this and being so honest. Personally I think it could've been better if it wasn't broken up by the ... pause thingies lol. Awesome write!

| I loved it!!! I am a Social Worker and work with children and their families daily who have been subject to some sort of abuse throughout their life. This is an inspiration to all! |
