To my love, on that night, in my dreams

Contributed by Jonny_Angel on Wednesday, 30th July 2003 @ 03:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Dear Love,

I only write this to remind myself of thee
To embrace the warmth that you've given me
I write of the inspiration that remains
In hopes that I will dream of you again

'Twas misty upon my seeing you
Like a ghost, conjuring yourself anew
In your arms, I lay undemanding
As our gesture turned heads to we two

You took me to the road to go dancing
Pavement bathed in silver moonlight
I looked into your crystal blue eyes
Party lights painting a canvas behind

I have never felt in any dream
The way I felt about you
Perhaps it was that I loved you
And it seemed that you loved me too

You could never get your steps right
But that was okay, we laughed
And even when that car ruined out beat
A beautiful melody you were able to craft

Sailing to the dark end of the street
We danced, holding each other tight
And the music played only for us now
Only a dream could have created this night

Alone, in the midst of the darkness
I couldn't have felt more alive
And if it wasn't for you, my love
I would have felt empty inside

Your lips moved to the song
Till it was clear the voice came from you
Against your body, I held your hand
Kissing it gently, my feelings for you grew

I have never felt in any dream
The way I felt of an angel that was you
It was simply because I loved you
And I knew that you loved me too

To my love, on that night, in my dreams
We shall meet again in my mind
In a time where love is just love
Where I am yours and you are mine

Love,
A Dreamer
