I know that life’s been hard on you,
I’ve seen the tears you cried,
Your days are now an empty place,
The nights, nowhere to hide.
Inside you feel I’ve left you,
I lied and now I’m gone,
And the promises I made to you,
All have come undone.
And it sometimes overwhelms you,
‘Cause you feel you’ve lost it all,
The dreams you had are shattered,
Your love wrapped in a pall.
Yet through it all I’m there with you,
I’m walking by your side,
The way I’ve done each moment,
Ever since the day I died.
And if I could I'd take your hand,
To comfort you my love,
But I'll be watching over you,
From somewhere up above.
