It's time for me to walk away
I'm counting down until the day
It's time for you to say goodbye
Is this how you want things to die?
I don't need your support
I guess that's why you never gave it much
My vision of you distorts
'Cause I find no comfort in your harsh touch
If you don't care then I don't care
This isn't getting anywhere
I'll prove you wrong and you'll regret
The things you said 'cause I won't forget
There's nothing more to tell
The silence that you'll hear will be so loud
In your home guilt will dwell
I hope the voices in your head scream out loud
You'll barely know our kids at all
I hope this is a wake-up call
Yes, I'm gonna marry this "bum"
I hope that makes you feel real dumb
I'm sick of your bull****
I'm sick of you always putting me down
Your so-called love's unfit
For a daughter who only feels let down
No you won't be at our wedding
Or teaching your grandchildren to swing
All because you didn't believe
In me; now look what you've achieved
You can't treat me this way
I'm packing my things, it's karma's cue
Hope you know the price to pay
Because you won't see me until I'll see you

We all know the feeling all to well. Feeling left out from your own parents and that they could care less or never have any faith that you'll make it. Don't shut them completely out of you're life even thought it seems like that is the only way to tell them they're letting you down. I hope things work out ok for you and your parent(s). Great poem. I really enjoyed reading it.

I know the feeling as well... but give them time to adjust and things just might get better
besides they are your parents.... without them you wouldn't have a life to live on your own.
