The Moon's Misfortune

Sand castle love, that's all we've ever had
In the view of a swift and fearful tide
We appear majestic and beautiful on the outside
Just barely at the tip of destruction's tongue
Building our moat of hugs and kisses
Peril ahead though we fail to show what true love is
Would we fair better to stand hand in hand?
Allow this bridge to drag the both of us down
Or should we separately stand our ground?
Millions of pieces waiting to be mended
If this castle drifts apart
So every piece will change somewhat
Lying in ruins, each unrecognizable to the other
Another time, some other place
Trying our luck with a different face
