yes, dad, im *really* going!

Contributed by ladyfawn on Monday, 28th July 2003 @ 02:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

you do not believe i will do it
how much i love him n' really going to go
guess you've thought that i was kidding
so heres a lill poem to let you know

yes, mom and the kids gave their blessing
and each talked to him a while on the phone
and yes, there will be someone here
whilst i am visiting away from home

please have some faith in love dad
for when true, you know its so sweet, yes
the way we met might be quite different
but, he's really neat dad, soon you'll see

when he comes here next to meet you
i know you will like each other a lot
you both will have so many laughs
no dad, hes not invited me for some plot

no, i dont think the plane will be high-jacked
im going down under, no, not out iraqie way
i promise, i will be careful waiting at airports
i will be happy, great and safe that day

dad, your right, i will be far away
but to me this man is not a stranger
we know each other very well
dad, trust, i will not be in danger

i love him with all my heart, dad
oh, yes, yes, im really really going
like i've said, our love is true n' genuine
our hearts are warm with the knowing

you said that you could never ever
fall in love with someone online
well, then you said 'she' could come here
so think about it, i will be fine

for you would care for 'her'
just like he will care for me
he'll keep me safe and feed me
and not tie me to an outback tree

yes, from phone calls, chats and letters
laughs and smiles through these years
he has always been there for me, dad
like you, he's held me through some tears

you've really made some good points dad
yes, i know you truely love the kids n' me
okay, yes, i promise, ill try real hard
whilst flying to not fall into the sea

im happy i will see his country
but mostly i dont care where we'd go
i just want to see and hold him
for this man he loves me so

all the details are worked out
except for kid and critter sitter
i've now my visa and passport; stay
here at my zoo if it makes you feel better

i'll be back from australia before you know
for he and i the time will be so fast
yes, you know, i always love you too, dad
ok! ok! you'll be happy when im home at last

it takes a special loving person dad
to care about their daughter so much
i know that you will worry some
i promise you to keep in touch

i hope this poem makes you feel better, dad
even if it only brings you a warm smile
and two weeks is not forever
it is only just a little while

xxxxxxxxx...

Well, good to know someone else is having parent problems, lol. They never believe we'll actually do it, do they? Just once I'd like to be taken seriously. But enough about me, I hope you have a good time with your man. ;) Hehe.

I'm a dad with kids your size,
Maybe older, I surmize,
I could play the loving father
but I'm sure you wouldn't bother.

I have two sons but nay a daughter,
I'm out of practice, kinda, sorta,
But I would figure, I brought 'em up
To handle life from morn to sup...

*laughs* You know, mom, this poem shows that even when you're an adult you still get trouble from the parents.

But this was good. Very. ^_^ And yeah, gramps, I'm supportin' Mom in going to Austraila. It's a good opportunity to get to know Phil and all that good stuff... I've talked to him before and Phil's a cool guy. Something I wouldn't miss out on either. (Although I'm sure you'd have a fit before I did something like that, Mom.) *laughs*

Hi,
How lucky you are to have such
a father that cares so much.
It really touched my heart.
I am glad you are doing well.
I don't know if you remember me
or not but you and Chrissie who I
miss so very much have always
been the ones I look up to.

much love,
POOBEAR

Hi Snooks,
As usual, written with thought and feeling.
I'm sure that Dad will feel better knowing that his daughter will be visiting one of the best countries in the world and that i will show you all the love and respect that you deserve.
Four years in constant contact speaks for itself.
Counting the days,
Love you
Phil. x x x x x x x x x x x x x
