No More Second Thoughts

Suicide

Each time I try, I fail.
Unable to succeed in my fantasy.
Second thoughts hold me back.
What if I were a statistic,
Instead of your baby girl?
No more second thoughts
I try to swallow my fears with pills,
Acetaminophen golf balls slide down my throat.
Second thoughts hold me back.
Only three get past my teeth.
The coward's way out
No more second thoughts
Adrenaline pushes me further,
As two more slip painfully down.
Second thoughts hold me back.
I am swallowed now by my own insanity.
There is no more turning back,
And one last second thought.

Death is with no question the easier route. But sometimes we can't see the good that may come from all the bad. I just hate to think about the people who don't believe you will succeed and have to finish off that bottle. Proving them wrong may be all the satisfaction you need. Don't give up so soon. I know my failed attempts at suicide have got me to thinking... This was a good write. |
