Much Like Suffocating

Contributed by Stalkee on Saturday, 26th July 2003 @ 10:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

I'm feeling so much love for you
So much love, that it hurts
And it's much like suffocating
When you get close to me
All the breath I had leaves me
And it becomes so hard to breathe

I wish I could tell you how I feel
But I just can't say what I mean to say
And even when I do find the words, timing never seems right
I wonder if when I ever tell you my feelings,
if this pain will let me be,
and this suffocation will end

As soon as I saw the title to this I had to read it coz it made me think of that song, I can't remember for some reason the group that does it... but you probably know what I'm talking about. And I have to say, I can really relate to this. I've written more than one poem about not being able to tell someone how I feel about them and I know the feeling of the timing never being right and it's really frustrating, isn't it? Well, hey, if nothing else, show the person this poem and then at least they'll know you have something to tell them and (hopefully) they'll let you say it... of course that kind of puts you on the spot... but anyways I'm rambling. Great write!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
