Life After Death

Contributed by POOBEAR on Saturday, 10th August 2002 @ 09:35:09 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I have tried and failed to take my own life.
It was mine to take, but still I was locked
up for a time.
I have tried and failed but not been caught,
and made to feel like a criminal fleeing
the scene of the crime.

So many religions and each one different
in what they believe.
It seems that having faith is really a
matter of guessing.
All I know is that I have tired of this life,
that has turned out to be disguised as a
blessing.

The very thought of it scares me,
the chance there is life after death.
Because I will only be able to breathe,
when I take my last and final breath.

You are right, it is yours to take and only you can make such a decision......but to be gone for the rest of your life and not be there to see what happerns next is like having a prezzy and never opening it.
This is a very touching and sad poem............... the last two lines will haunt me for quite a while.

Stay with us Poo

Love
Dave

And just how would you get over here and meet me and my family? We've talked about it haven't we?
I know how weary you are Lynn but please rest on me and your other friends here. Keep writing my friend.
Love you lots
Chrissie xx

We have already discussed this religion thing haven't we. I think we are fairly agreed that "man made" religions are counterfeit.

As to death.......when I was an RAF pilot I had a "death" experience which may or may not be like the real thing. Imagine you are hurtling earhtwards and there is no way you can avoid the impact.............a split second before it happens......everything goes blank (as though you had been watching TV in a darkened room and the power failed..........
absolute blankness, nothing, no pain, nothing...............

Now I suppose this is an automatic body reaction to minnimise injury, bleeding etc. but you don't know that at the time.

I was "gone" for several days. There was no "afterlife" no dreams nothing.

Recovery came when I saw the corner of a window and desperately started to try and make it grow. I won't bore you with the rest......

The point I'm trying to make is there is nothing to fear about death you just cease to exist.
