my life lived in hell

Contributed by eeka_taquito on Saturday, 26th July 2003 @ 06:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

surrounded by fire.
held down by chains.
beat down for trying to stand,
and find someone to care,
so i dont even dare.
afraid of losing all i hold dear to me,
i act like im okay,
smile, laugh,
all this so the devil wont see,
and be proud of what he's done.
cutting, burning, bleeding dry.
hurting myself,
to hide all the agony inside.
and theres only one person,
who cared enough,
to see right through,
and straight to my fears.
he was my best friend,
then my boyfriend,
now hes gone,
he has someone new.
no more friend to help calm me down.
no one here to talk me out of cutting.
no more him to give me reason not to kill myself.
so what is there to live for?
do i give in to the devil?
do i let him take over?
damn myself forever,
and go down to hell?
can't think about this anymore.
theres a throbbing pain inside,
but dont worry about me,
you've got your own life,
with all your own problems,
probably more important then my own.
maybe im just exaggerating.
imagining all this.
thats what my friends think,
but will they change their minds,
when they're watching the news,
and hear my name said,
on the list of teen suicides...

When I saw this I said whoa this is long but when I read it, It was awsome, since you were lookin for constructive criticism you could try adding paragraphs. This poem slammed home it is a great one

do i let him take over?

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
