That girl sitting there all alone,
hiding in the darkness of her own mind.
She cries. Cries inside herself at nightfall,
when she's alone, always alone.
When she cries, the tears are red,
from the hate and anger towards the world.
When she bleeds, the blood is thick, black.
The color of fear, shadows and rejection.
Rejected from the world,
scared of the shadows.
Its all so painful, she makes herself bleed.
Thick black blood and blood red tears.
It doesn't hurt,
Nothing hurts her anymore.

I see two illusions here at work
the first: the girl on the outside is not showing her pain.
the second: the girl has experienced so much pain she is numb
the question how can they both exist at the same time?
Don't get me wrong I liked this straightforward poem good work Drew |
