Malevolent Tolerance

Freedom is justice
we lust after and suffer,
like a blue sky over prison walls
reminding us we are confined
A man can be free anywhere
if he is free in his mind
if he ignores the barbed wire
and the gun towers
We make our way from birth
to job, car, parenthood, marriage
and death obligated to one path
while looking for another.
