Shadowland

Contributed by lostforgood on Friday, 25th July 2003 @ 09:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I have fallen into a shadowland,
I am no one to anyone here
I am the nothing I am in
Your world still shelters me
But I just lurk in the darkness
My soul has finally given into
The evil thats inside
I have no one to turn to
I have no where to hide
Nothing really matters
Nor do I care if these feelings subside
Reading this might worry you
Or maybe you couldn't care less
But you know what I don't care this time
I am in a shadowland
Where darkness is the only thing
And time is never present
Nothing ever happens
Except blackness filling me slowly

This poem really says a lot about it's author. You sound so hopeless here, so lost to the sins of the world. As someone who's been there, let me tell you something. There are two ways to get out of shadowland. The first is to embrace it by convincing yourself that absolutely nobody in the world has any reason to give a damn about you and that you really are worthless in the world. After a good few months of thinking of such things and wanting to kill yourself and the like, you'll come to realize that you are actually surrounded by love in this world. The harder you try to be unloved, then the more obvious that love will become. The second thing to do is to rise up above your depression. I know that sounds vague and just a little bit cheesy, but in order to not be depressed, you should really get off your ass and go seek out people with interests very similar to yours. I feel no pity for people who do the exact same thing every day and expect life to be exciting and pleasureable. It just doesn't happen. In any case, i really liked the poem... it just seems so hopeless though. Maybe you are feeling hopeless, and maybe you're just a really good actor, but either way, it'll all get better someday. Have a nice day and a good rest of your life, Butterat Zool.
