the song of my life

Contributed by dreadfulsuicide1570 on Thursday, 24th July 2003 @ 10:25:00 PM in AEST
Topic: AmericanTragedy

she walks to shcool with the lunch she packed
nobody knows what shes holding bakc
where the same dress she wore yesterday
she hides the bruises with linen and lace
o0h
the teacher wonders but never asks
its hard to see the pain behind the mask
bearing the burden of a secret storm
sometimes she wishes she was never born

through the wind and the rain
she stands hard as a stone
in a world tht she cant rise above
but her dreams give her wings
and she flys to a place
where she's loved
concrete angel

somebody cries in the middle of the nite
the neighbors hear but the turn out the light
a fragile soul caught in hands of fate
when morning comes it will be too late

through the wind and the rain
she stands hard as a stone
in a world tht she cant rise above
but her dreams give her wings
and she flys to a place
where she's loved
concrete angel

a statue stands in a shaded place
and angel girl with an upturn face
a name is written on a polished rock
a broken heart that the world forgot

through the wind and the rain
she stands hard as a stone
in a world tht she cant rise above
but her dreams give her wings
and she flys to a place
where she's loved
concrete angel

Oh, your poem broke my heart! What a wonderful theme. I was a battered child until I was a Senior in high school. I also had the thought of death.....it was my only way out! I hope and prayer this did not happen to you, but if it did, I'm so glad you are still alive to write that beautiful poem! It was wonderful
