Senses

Topic: oops

What I see is a land full of misery, a history of a downtrodden society,
The minds of those that try to belittle me and the words I speak so fluently and frequently.
I see a land where it seems that my life is the thing that tries to kill me,
I see people just like me running the same road and now their souls are weary, the hearts that were once happy, now broken and dreary.
I see pain, take a minute to see what I see.

What I feel....feel?....I feel nothing at all.
Yet I feel everything like love between two people who are devoted to eachother, the hate between two people ready to kill one another,
I feel my heart turning to stone in this world where I feel alone.
I feel like I wish I couldn't feel the pain of those around me.
I feel as though I feel nothing, can u feel me?

What I hear...death's song...cries of my family, the cries of those who are only trying to make it and survive in this society.
I hear my own cries from the dreams where I see my friends die quickly murdered down by their enemies.
I hear the screeches of pain, the complaints of those that are about to drive me insane,
I hear a woman crying telling someone to stop, I hear skin breaking, fists shaking, I can hear the Earth quaking.
Can you hear what I hear? Just listen to me.

What I smell...I smell a stinch of hatred of dry blood,
The same blood that was once living in someones veins, the same blood that is shed for no reason at all.
I smell the repugnant odor of death in the air, and its sad cuz everyday I arise with this stinch stained in my brain, so never will I forget.
I try to lift my head up high, but its ashame because thats where the odor of hatred lies.
Now take some time and lift your head to the sky and see,
Can you smell why I cry?

What I taste... I taste bitterness on my tounge from the bitter words, with the breath provided by my lungs.
I taste the words that I speak, the same words you read, I taste reality.
I taste lemons and limes and so many lies.
I taste blood on my tounge, blood from my lips, for tellin everyone the difference between blood and crips..the mental difference that is still a similarity,
But the difference that is only found in differences between kids and...well..more kids.
I taste the truth, read what I taste,
Can you taste what you read?

Those are my senses, the way I examine the world around me, take a minute out of your busy life and try to examine with me.

That was briliiant. I am astonished at your voice in the poem. It grabbed at the very nerves connected to my heart and tugged them pleaded for me to understand. Thank you for your comment on my poem "her". People did say it was rather short, and I agree it is but nothing sounded right except that and I hate to force inspiration...IT's not as good in the end.
