When I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
But when I go under your knife
Into your hands I put my life
And when you start on me today
Please don’t let your mind go astray
Pay close attention to me I pray
Please remember about my life
About my son and my wife
Please handle it with utmost care
They have no more anguish to spare
So when I wake up today
I know I’ll be too inebriated to say
Thank you for all you have done today
