From the oceans deep
into the frying pan
a rude awakening
from a deep sleep.
The predator's word
is a double-edged sword
hear the escapist sing
with a broken chord.
Let the serpent whisper
rumours down the ear
there is reason to fear
the end is coming near.
In the time of need
one persons hunger
another’s greed,
there are traces left
of what was indeed
a primordial feed,
the pillaging and theft
of the original seed.
