Suicide Awareness

Contributed by norm on Sunday, 20th July 2003 @ 10:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

It was Wednesday I am speaking of, Mike and I showed early,
He told me of a kid he had, a three year baby girly.
It happened many years before, he no longer wonders why,
I had never heard before, the baby girl did die.

They took her to a hospital where baby deaths are rife,
Where little can be done for kids to save their little life.
As he told me of this awful tale, a thought occured to me,
Why not, instead of suicide, let selfish kids go see.

Go volunteer and see if they can help these kids along,
Let the babies' final days be happiness and song.
The suicides can do their act, using gun or rope
As soon as these kid's doctors, run out of any hope.

There is a possibility the suicides will see,
How fragile, for some people, a full happy life can be.
Their thinking can become adult and find that life has worth
The only thing a pre-death does is rob them of their birth.

This is a great poem and oh, so true,
All they are thinking is that they are blue.
If they would only realize that it will soon past by,
They will no longer want to die.

IF ONLY THEY COULD REALIZE THAT NO MATTER HOW BAD THINGS SEEM FOR YOU .THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEBODY SOME WHERE WORSE OFF THAN YOU. AND IF THEY CAN MAKE SO CAN YOU. THERE IS SO MUCH THAT PRAY CAN DO,WHAT GOD HAS DONE FOR OTHERS SURLEY HE CAN DO FOR YOU TO.

To throw my life away
Is something I’d never do
I’m only sixteen you see,
I’d like to see it through.

Crushed I’ve been and crushed I’ll be
The hurt I have is a growing tree.
But Hope always calls out for me
And I know one day I will break free.

norm this is utterly fantastic. What a beautiful and truthful insight you have wrote within your words. At the times when we are the lowest we feel that noone could possibly be worse off than us, but if faced directly with another's situation it just may show them how very precious life really is. Norm this is a fabulous write and so very much enjoyed. Thank you for sharing it with us all.
