Am I here

Contributed by daen14 on Sunday, 20th July 2003 @ 09:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

Where Am i
where are you
When I am awake I am not here
But when I am asleep I am not there
I live in a world that I love but I do not like
So full of contradictions
WHERE are my answers
where are yours
when we were small we had trust, faith, innocence
But then we began to get older and were told to forget these things
Dont trust, have no faith ,your innocence is gone
We were fooled into thinking we needed something other than what we already had

Then my transformation began
Not into the farce called maturity
But into love which is necessary
THE ULTIMATE GOAL
and I realized that the only way to get there was to take my trust, my
faith, and my innocence back
And then after many failed attempts to TAKE those things back I realized that my efforts were in vain because those thingshad never left me I had left them

free verse is difficult to write and I feel this is a poem and a very thought provoking one at that. You showed us the goings on of your brilliant mind.

I hope that you took them back from where you had left them.
