Say you’re in love with me
When I believe it, fight and scream
Tell me you want to be with me
Then say marrying him’s your dream
Show me all I’ve ever wanted
Then take it all away
Say I’m the wind beneath your wings
But with him you’re going to stay
Spend each day knowing I’m yours
But never allow yourself to be mine
Tell me how much you miss me
But to see me, you have no time
Accept my heart and all my love
Then in an instant set me free
Tell me I’m all you’ve ever wanted
But you no longer have feelings for me
Keep asking me to wait for you
Then suddenly force me to leave
Tell me I have to trust in you
Then constantly lie and deceive
Tell others you compared me to him
You say I win on all counts
Tell me you want more for yourself
But decide you’d rather be without
Tell me how much I mean to you
But walk away from me with ease
Fill my heart and soul with passion
Then drop me to my knees
Speak to me of our future and love
But never recall your words
Tell me how you’ve always wanted me here
But leave my future blurred
Tell me that I might be the one
But give yourself no chance to see
Fill my heart with increasing desire
Then leave me here, alone and empty
Take all I’ve ever given you
As long as there’s no cost
Make love to me late one night
Then the very next day, we’re lost
Stand by me as I build my life around you
Encouraging me along the way
Then leave me stripped of my will to live
As I watch my only dream fade away

Curtis, this poem rocks!!!! You certainly have not lost your touch... Great write of such a sad situation..
