Dying for Peace

Sadness and frustration crash into me.
I can't seem to cry hard enough,
to create an outlet for them to escape.
Addictive behavior takes the wheel.
No plan, just acting on impulse.
Slam my head into the wall,
trying to dislodge the thoughts,
that cling to every opening
of my mind.
My hand grabs a generous serving
of pills.
The wine does not compliment
the bitterness.
I draw deeply on a cigarette.
It seems as if it is the best
smoke I have ever had.
I am becoming numb now
and I don't miss feeling.
Not really thinking about dying.
Just dying to live in peace.

My favorite part of this poem was its last two lines. You've summed up everything that anyone has ever wanted in 2 lines... Great write!
