The Patronizing Prerogative

Contributed by Steeleyes on Saturday, 19th July 2003 @ 04:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: political

Now we’re hearing the game plan
Change the rules to change the world
Make it legal for pre-emptive strike at the UN
But only if it’s by US

But number one is changing perception
To change the focus of public deception

“We can’t win the argument on WMDs
Our people in Iraq say on bended knees
We just can’t find any trace
Change tack or you'll lose face.”

So the game is now to say what we did was right
That for REGIME CHANGE change alone we fought
That we had to play by the old UN rules
And say it was about WMDs for those fools

Bush & Blair think this is as bad as it can get
With the tactic of “imminent threat”
It was the only legal way to start the war
But now it's got politically sore

So move attention AWAY from that
They can only say what we did was illegal
And they've pointed that out each day
We must say that was a mere technicality
We did RIGHT so change the LAW!

Allow regime change to be a legitimate goal
If sanctioned by US at the UN
The political focus needs to change its role
Allow us to rearrange the world

Let US rule the world
And give the bad guys a muderous fight
Don’t you know it yet?
WE'RE ALWAYS 'RIGHT'!!!

O?

Watch them begin to change your perception
Using the ugly skills of political deception

They are now in another phase
To win a POLITICAL war at home
The focus on their lies they do not like
Their lies are shown and make them moan

They must shift the focus
To pretend to be right
That it was good what they did
To slaughter and fight

'Yes, we had to say it was for other reasons
You know that’s just the political seasons
We had to do it and we found a way
And yes we SEE your sad dismay.'

'But we did the thing that had to be done
Though we broke the law to do it
Our answer now is to CHANGE THE LAW
That way WE will get through it!'

Watch them now as they speak less often
Of the imminent threat
Watch as the focus begins to change
And alter, merge and soften

They have looked at this and devised the words
To dupe us all again
These parasites and sychophants
Are such dishonest men

This is the patronizing prerogative
They see themselves as judge and jury
Executioner too
They see themselves above the law
And they're looking down on...

YOU

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
