The Pain Within

Contributed by krystal on Friday, 18th July 2003 @ 06:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Tangled emotions,
binding together tighter and tighter
closing in around me.
Strangulation,
Choking,
Struggling to break free,
Clawing and Scratching,
until its power is too overwhelming.
I have no choice.
I must succumb to the strength of it.
Once again, here I am
like a vulnerable child,
weeping tears that seem to flow
so endlessly...
not from a wounded knee,
but from a wounded heart.
With no-one to comfort me.
No-one to take the pain away.
No-one to reassure me that the ache will end.
Will it?
Or will it be only temporarily numb.
A healed wound only to reopen,
to become infected once more.
Leaving an even more deepening scar
that keeps reminding me of this blackness within.
The tortured emotions,
The building anger,
The turmoil of confusion,
that all seems so unbearable at times.
Do I shut it all away
or let it go?
Well knowing once it has escaped
there will be no taking it back.
Blackness is not accepted,
like the anger within,
the unspoken words...
So I Stay within my shell,
my own silent torture.
Let the numbness come
and the scar deepen...
I suffer in silence.

Ayyy! painful to read because it sounds real
wish I could absorbe it, bury it out of harms way.
When it is stale it will corrode its shell, let go
let it run, wash away, there's no need for silent torture.
Easier said than done but I have a feeling Kristal,
intuitively I think you're strong enough to overcome.
I jump into my pain headfirst and move,
charge through it till I come out from the other side, brand new.
In self healing you do not have to aproach with kid gloves,
go for the kill, bury that pain!, get rid of it!!!!.
When it is all over you'll be stronger.
I know you can, thus my persistance.

Thank you to all of you for your kind words and encouragement. I feel that by sharing poems such as these it brings a bit of understanding to those who read them... Although you may feel alone, you are not alone in the way that you feel....

These are rhymes
and these are times
that make the reader ponder,
Is it true or is it pooh
Like a soaring condor,
Take the pain and fly away
There will come another day
If Krystal's here
We all will cheer
We'll rip the pain asunder...

Norm:

My pain is removed, it has flown away
on the wings of that powerful bird
it took me some time, but now it has passed
Yet your words will not go unheard
For all of those who may read my painful poem
They will see your advice up above
They can take it to heart, and learn from it too
And become someone that they can be proud of

So please, give a cheer
For I am still here
to the pain I did not succumb
I have found my dear
A love I hold near
Which helped me to overcome :)
