Dream (Green?)

She had this flashy car,
Only it was green,
(With three bullet holes)
They called her the “dream”
Her happy “maidens” hung
On the bonnet, he wrote a sonnet
For me, but gave it to her.
So I walked alongside the…
“Green Dream”. Please!
Jelousy is not my name
Nor my present stance, but
In the face of lost romance
I would add the fourth bullet-hole
Just the same.
Her walk,
A whole different story
That walk, swear to God,
Bobbing along like
Staccato.
How did she get away with it?
Then, when she tried to impress,
Accent crescendoes,
The hair, the bag, the breasts
They all came alive to her
Rhythm (or lack of)
In the street.
Toe nails manicured,
Small pretty feet
Finger nails filed...
Then she saw herself
In the shop window,
And smiled.
But I realise, more than I hate her
Perhaps I dislike myself,
If I valued me, as well as she,
I'd have no need for wealth.
