Plagiarism

Contributed by norm on Wednesday, 16th July 2003 @ 08:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

Suppose I write twenty poems,
Can I repeat phrases at all,
Can I prevent using a word
That I may have used last fall?

Plagiarism is naughty and base,
Indeed, do I steal from myself?
If I've used a word like little old 'if',
Can I keep extra words on a shelf?

Can I use the word, 'gla'
And make it mean 'if'
gla, it's alright with you
Then gla it's alright with moo.

Little by little we'll work out a code,
We'll call it a little Code A
And for twenty poems it'll play,
All on a beautiful day.

From twenty to fifty,
We'll work on Code B
I won't steal from you,
You won't steal from me.

People are patterned
To rethink their thought
That's where duplication
is bought and wrought.

Poems over fifty,
we may need a proctor,
it's also quite possible
We may need a doctor.

gla we write over fifty
I'm willing to steal,
Listen, dear friends,
Don't think I'm for real.
