dotting the sky
they float gently
dust on high
flutes sing
bells tinkle beautifully
though urgently they ring
each note fades
now seen
Enlarging, Menacing
french horns grow
tubas down low
awe spreads
brass quiets, winds hush-
panic Erupts
trumpets Rush
a siren distantly heard -- clarinets trill
Barely
the first Impacts, then a second
drums Thunder
a flare of light beckons
dusty death
timpanis Rumble
crescendo
Cresendo
CRASH
all Bellow and Roar
a Triumphantly Terrible finish
fading into the air
leaving the earth
barren and bare

It is excellent...It reminds me of the 1812
overture that is played on America's July 4th.
Rockets are shot off..salutes are exploded..
all and all..the noise grabs you.

ericool_dude,
I completely love the comparison between the music and the missiles. In my mind I could paint a vivid picture of what it was like in that situation from your words. I really can't think of anything "constructive". But if you post any more poetry let me know b/c I just loved that poem!
Peace easy,
Jellybellyprincess |
