The Succubus' Visit

Contributed by norm on Wednesday, 16th July 2003 @ 12:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

In the back of my head and down below
Where dreams are stored and ideas flow,
I saw in the dark a maiden fair,
I saw in the dark a maiden there.

She was not chaste for around her waste
She had a gown half falling down,
Plain to see, a maiden she
A stretch of fancy, it would be.

My hand slid downward to her hips
She smiled as I kissed her lips,
I looked into her deep-set eyes
I saw black pits of hate and lies.

I turned away, I felt alarm
I looked back and she was gone.
A succubus did some ugly send,
I wonder who is not my friend?

When I was in my teens
there were a lot of them about
After I got married
I began to have a doubt

The devil in disguise
we meet eye to eye
so long as we realise
the worst way to die
with such ruthless lies.
