Freefall Into Reality...

Contributed by LovingWhispers on Saturday, 12th July 2003 @ 10:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

With head in hands ,I close my eyes
As I realise what I've done
I've gone and set myself up again
Once more it's time to run
Still shaking my head in disbelief
I'm such a fool with dreams
All the time I was falling, falling
I didn't hear the screams
I didn't listen to myself
Freefalling.....I was blind
Overlooking all the evidence
That said you'd never be mine
Foolish me could never take her place
And in her shadow I'd have to live
Always being her you think of
While it's me,give,give,give
Dreaming,dreaming,hoping dreaming
Just another pitiful poem
Now I'm turning,running,running
Trying to find my way back home

I wrote a poem called I Freefall Me a few years ago. It starts out:

"I took a ride inside to hide
perhaps unwind inside my mind.."

the end of the piece like this:

"...the end of the journey has come.
Though the fall through my mind wasn't long
I slam into reality.

Done."

I guess what they say about great minds is true. (By the way, I think I submitted that piece yesterday morning. : ) )

Really great. We have all been there at some point. Everyone should be able to relate to your words. Which personally, is what poetry should be about.

in my words it has been:
"falling is almost like flying
when there's no ground
to fall upon." - 'Foreplay'.
I also understand the intensity released
when it all ends up in self screaming.
(love is blind or do we choose to rather go blind
almost knowingly, than experience loveless vacuume?).
