Dragon of Hell

Contributed by yellow_sundragon on Saturday, 12th July 2003 @ 04:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

She pulled her shinning sword,
Right from her dusty sheath,
Pointed it at his nose,
Then waved it underneath.

Though her composure was calm,
She was shaking on the inside,
She wanted to know what posessed her,
To demand of this demon, a ride.

He was truly a creature from hell,
His body of scales and bones,
Fire shooting from throat and mouth,
In beautiful red and orange tones.

His eyes as black as coal,
Shining as brightly as does gold,
Tail as long as his body,
And his wings on his back, in fold.

Greater and mightier than she,
He stood taller than her by three.
She bravely stood and stared him down,
Knowing he couldn't be left to roam free.

After a few moments of silence,
The demon calmly answered her call,
"What would you do with me, cloaked mortal,
If to you I were to fall?"

It was then she removed her cloak,
Showing a slim figure and pointy ears.
"I am no mortal, you monster,
And I have come to collect, for your fears.

"You have come to too many villages,
Leaving destruction in your path,
Massacring my people and my lands,
So now you must feel their wrath.

"I give you a choice, dear demon,
And you had better listen well,
You may fight me and die,
Or bow to me, only time will tell."

The demon thought for a moment,
Then looked this Elf in the eyes,
And responded with an impatient snort,
He doesn't plan to die.

"Lower your sword, little elf,
Or I will chomp it in two,
You didn't honestly think this would work,
That I'd willingly go with you?

"I've been alive many years,
And never have I been enslaved,
It's nice that you tried, but it won't work,
And trust me, many men have braved."

With that the Elf did shove her blade in his chest,
And whispered again her call,
"Become my ride or else,
The big mighty dragon will fall."

The dragon got tears in it's eyes,
For it would never be somebody's ride.
It gust out a shot of molten fire,
As the last Dragon of Hell died.

Beautiful! Glad to see you getting back to your dragon/elf type poetry. A nice, refreshing change from the sad stuff. =)
