Sitting In A Booth

They were sitting in a booth at Pizza Hut,
Lunch was on the table, and love was in their eyes.
Snow was on the ground, and the clouds hid the sun,
Is this the one they thought, after so many tries?
While calm on the outside, thoughts were flying fast,
Is he what I hoped for? Is she what she seems?
Could this be my knight in armor, willing to rescue me?
Have I finally wakened, and found the lady of my dreams?
They pause and they wonder, is this to good to be true?
Many questions, doubts, and fears cross their minds.
They have walked in the dark, for so long a time,
It seemed like forever, their eyes would remain blind.
Each has been burned by the flames of lost love,
Both believed that those flames had left a scar,
That passion and love and caring could never penetrate,
The wounds so close, and the feelings so far.
And there they sat, so afraid and yet so brave,
Willing to grasp the feelings that brought them pain,
Wondering and doubting and betting on the chance,
Their passion will be rewarded, no longer under restrain.
So on this dreary afternoon, with its sky so gray,
A very special bond has formed, never to be cut,
Will they ever realize how their lives changed while,
They were sitting in a booth at Pizza Hut?
