Love
Is something I seek to find
Hope
Is something I keep in mind
Who I Am
Is something that might not be right
To someone else
But I don’t know
I can’t see through their eyes

People change
It’s why I must change too
People dream
Mostly I dream of you
People lie
Sometimes it’s all they can do
To not hurt your feelings
Or to hurt them real good

Now I sit and wonder just what it’s going to take
To make all these feelings I have simply go away
I didn’t ask to feel like this. I can’t control that I do
I didn’t WANT to be plagued by these shameful feelings for you
I can’t tell a soul. Who cares? Well I do
Acceptance is something I clutch so dearly to

Do I live my life in fear? I’d like to say no
But the truth is I do and it kills me to know
I can be stronger. It’s my life after all
I’m just too scared to stand up. I know myself. I’m going to fall.
