The Crow

Contributed by Crow on Thursday, 10th July 2003 @ 04:35:00 AM in AEST
Topic: mystical

Sitting on the flower box, black as coal
no song in his voice, the crow.

The morning fresh from a light spring rain
What gift he bears as he taps the glass.

Quite bold this creature said to be,
I rise from my sleep to greet this intruder.

Mystical past carried on wings,
scolding and taunting, I let him in.

There on the sill the gift he lays,
a marbled stone from the earth below.

Tassle of silver, purple ribbon,
this that I offer, no bounty is taken.

The night gives-in, a morning is born,
there at your window, the crow resides.

I look with wonder from a far and distant
place, as he taps at a window once more.... Crow

I caught the tribute to Poe in there. Almost a lighter scene to mirror that classic in a very distinctive style. I read it three times.

Does Crow want to know Crow or
Does Crow want to know Crow?
If Crow can attain the glory of heaven
then Crow will be acceptable to Crow.

I do not think, because of their species,
that Crow will ever marry Crow.
If they should marry, I'd like to attend,
The wedding of Crow and Crow...

I will not be held responsible for
any children forthwith...
