He sits across from me
And offers me his heart
He will buy the world
If it will make me happy
But I look at him
This man I grew up with
And I saw a brother
So said that it's wrong
I went home that night
And talked to my friends
They agreed with me
That it's dirty
I had a dream that night
Showing my true feelings
I was wrong, I'm sorry
Not dirty, but not right
She now has your heart
The one that I gave up
Though you still offer it
I still can't take it
Your hands are tied
Mine are open, willing
But it can never be
So I'll love you in my mind
