You ask me what I want,
From life,romance and love
You say that you love me,
But that to me, is not enough
I want friendship most of all
For that must be the basis
Then comes trust and understanding
And tender warm embraces
I need to look in softened eyes
Find passion and desire
I want to share some special moments
With my lover by the fire
I don't need fancy clothing
Or jewellery made of gold
For richness comes from lasting love
The kind not bought nor sold
I crave attentiveness and affection
Hands run through my hair
I want to lie in my lovers arms
And feel the magic there
I need to give completely
Without a second thought to pain
My heart is bruised and sorry
Yet I'm determined to feel again
I could go on forever
Of all that means so much to me
But mostly what I want from life
Is for love to come for free

This is wonderful! What more could we want then to be loved unconditionally? This is my favorite type of poetry, no effort made to try and impress, simple in language and deep in emotion. Beautiful write.
