Once there was a little girl,
She lived in such a happy little world.
Laughing and smiling as if nothing could touch her,
Little did she know of how soon things would lose order.
As a child she was so cute,
But she soon started to grow so much older.
And as she watched her reflection each day ,
She began to see the happiness fade away.
Everything was replaced with pain and tears,
Her mother began to show her who she really is,
Her father began to slowly desert her.
The only one left for her was her dear old brother,
But as the days went on and she grew older,
He all the sudden was gone and she was then all alone.
The little girl was not quite so little anymore,
And things were not alright.
She often looked upon her days and frowned,
And looked in the mirror only to see a girl that was downed.
Friends and pressures filled her life,
Tugging her every which way.
Until one day she picked up a knife,
She wondered why she was doing this,
As she slowly slid it across her wrists.
The pain it brought wasn't very slight,
So she cried out in tears of fright.
Who had she become,
A friend of the night?
The days drug on and on so very slow,
But she never did seem to show,
The pain inside that always flowed.
To the world she was still just a happy little girl,
But deep inside she knew the truth.
And wished that she could let someone know,
The horrid things she'd come to be.
All the secrets, lies, and things that she had lived,
Never quite understanding how she'd turned into this ugly creature,
When she used to be so cute and little
Each day she cried alone at night,
Knowing she must be a scary sight.
She wondered why she couldn't be like everyone else,
And share the real smiles that they all got.
But every day it got worse,
Secretly she drew in more to herself.
It looked as if she made more friends and became more happy,
But it was just her desperate way of trying to get out,
Of the hole she seemed to have fallen into.
The days got longer and the trudge got harder,
She didn't know how much farther she could really go on for.
The rest of the world was reassured by her strong words,
Her promises that she'd be okay,
When inside she was wondering if she'd be there the next day.
At night she'd go outside amongst the stars,
And look to them with teary eyes.
Wishing she could be like them,
She'd breathe in deeply and silently cry,
Letting the dark hold her tight.
The little girl that once was,
Was just an illusion to all.
This horrible thing she had become ,
Seemed to be the only thing possible for her to be.
And yet each night she asked the stars,
Is this me, is this who I have to be?

you hit it perfectly all that is exactly how i feel inside too the fakeness and not knowing what you've become is not what that little girl inside would have wanted. Just hang in there and be strong. I hope you're feeling a little bit better about yourself. And before I forget great poem you really show your emotion through your words and make everything flow. great job keep up the good work |
