Night Falls

Night falls, blackening the earth
Covering up feelings and emotions
Hiding how you feel
Comforting your sorrows
Taking away your pain
Night falls, like a warm blanket
Making everything all right
You don’t have to deal anymore
You’re safe from life
Night falls, a vacation from the sun
Stars fill the coal-colored sky
As you try to forget your day
Will tomorrow be different?
You drift into the safe comfort of sleep
And wait for tomorrow
