I'm coming home,
Returning to childhood,
I don't know what to say.
My heart aches,
Can't wait much longer,
I'm counting down the days.
Slowly throwing out baggage,
Packing the thing I cherish,
Wondering how this will be.
There won't be parents,
No siblings to boot,
And this time I fork the fees.
I'm coming to friends that I miss,
A town that I hold in my heart,
And of course, post-secondary.
Bringing friends from here,
To blend with life there,
A mix that's a little scary.
I'm anxious and impatient,
A little snobby to those I live with,
I just want this summer to end!
So I can get in that truck,
Filled with mine and his stuff,
And off 'round that roads little bend.
