“mommy” cried the woman-child
“i miss you oh so much”
peering into photographs
yearning for her touch
“mommy” screamed the woman-child
“i am sad for all your pain”
running through her dreams at night
searching for the rain
“mommy” whispered the woman-child
“i’m embracing you with my heart”
walking with her head held high
praying for a fresh start
“mommy” giggled the woman-child
“remember the stories we’d tell”
dreaming within limbo
not in heaven nor in hell
“mommy” bellowed the woman-child
“do you hear me? i am right here”
fumbling through this troubled abyss
remember i’m always near
“mommy” smiled the woman-child
“i’m holding you every night”
sleeping oh so peacefully
somehow it will be alright…
