dream catcher

I hang a dream catcher above my bed
in hopes it catches the dreams that escape my head
let all the bad ones slip through
leave behind the ones of you
vanish the pain and hold the desire
maybe it should be hung higher
filled with twists and tied with knots
of the memories I have not forgot
spirits are warned at sleeps door
invade my mind make my soul explore
dream catcher you do your job each night
hold onto what will wake me in mornings light
