The Lonely Star.

Contributed by HeartWhisperer on Thursday, 8th August 2002 @ 09:03:58 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Flying over moonlit fields,
trail of glitter across the sky.
A lonely star in the heavens,
its beauty catches his eye.

Serpents of air doing a dance,
swimming among those glistening stalks.
A wisp of summer breeze,
a basket of blushing apricots.

He smiles as he looks back,
a tail of magic dust.
Streaking across the darkness,
going where he must.

All this time, he is alone,
She gives without thought,
He gives with love,
In loneliness, both are caught.

Her light, she gives to all,
Her shine, many admire.
To all star-crossed lovers,
She lights their inner fire.

With love, he gives his presents,
to good little girls and boys.
They all await his coming,
with his gifts and toys.

Back at the pole, drink in hand,
Comfy and warm, no longer serious.
He looks at her, and raises his glass,
Smiling, he whispers, "Merry Christmas!"
