Mommy Please Come Home

Contributed by squeesh on Thursday, 3rd July 2003 @ 12:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Every time I need you
You're no where to be found
When I want to be left alone
You’re breathing down my neck
I need you mommy
But you’re not here
I’m crying now
And scared that you might be hurt
I assume you’re with friends
I’m stuck here alone
Mommy please come home
I miss all our great times
The laughs and tears
We used to hang out
Now the house is my best friend
I’m taking care of myself
You’re off having fun
I leave to get away
You ground me again
I’m sorry I’m such a bad kid
But maybe if you were around
I’d know right from wrong
I’m getting older now
And pressures are greater
I still need your guidance
Even thought I don’t ask
I just want you to come back home
So I know you’re safe
And I can feel you gentle touch another day longer
But still you’re not here
I go to bed
And sit there and listen
For you footsteps
I missed you again
And you’ll never know
The pain bottled inside
That’s eating from within
I love you mommy
Please come home

This breathes the need for help, love and attention that all children crave from their parents. Well written. It hits home.

As A mother this touches such a deeply sad note in my heart. It is beautifully written.

This poem is so touching. It fits me so well....my mother often is gone and leaves me home, the empty house is my friend, the routine of waiting, listening, hoping for her has become much to known. Hold on tight to life, keep trying, please never give up.
