tuesday

Contributed by me on Wednesday, 2nd July 2003 @ 12:35:00 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

By chance,
we met on a train.
A massive lady
was resting
most of her weight
on my smallest toe.
The scruffily bearded man
from the corner
shot a yellow-toothed grin
my way,
and the blast of dirty cigarettes,
and regurgitated alcohol
assailed my nostrils.
I discreetly turned away,
and glanced
at the assaulted toe instead.
You
were smirking impishly;
those thoughtful, dark eyes
fixated
on the passing scenes
of life,
the secret world
of every day;
mesmerized,
not by my beauty,
not by the perfection
of our surroundings,
only by the unfolding
of another Tuesday morning.

I think you have beautifully captured a moment in time... i feel your emotions and feel as though i am right there.

i aslo enjoy the fact that it's so simplistic and practical... day to day. i think that u've captured something which most people experience on a daily bases.. down to a slow motion time shot.

nice!

What a great theme...This is the kind of theme that could be the basis for 10 more poems........If you sell the theme, I'll buy it...

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
