I can't take the distance

I hate to see you go...
because everytime you leave my heart breaks in two.
I told you I would stay strong,
but the tears that fall-
are not from being strong
but from the fear of being alone.
I'm scared of going to bed at night without you by the side...
but I know this is your job
and I know that you love me none the less than yesterday.
And now that you are gone,
I break down and scream in pain...
I can't take the distance,
I can't wait to see you smile.
I used to be ashamed to say it... but now.
I can't take a single breath without having to say your name.
I still believe in feelings...
but sometimes I think I feel them too much.
I used to be so independent...
but now I am so dependent.
I can make believe that you are close
but it is never close enough.
I can sit in this corner and cry and get angry...
but each second that passes only brings me closer to you.
I really do hate the distance.
But I really love you-
so that is all that matters.
I can't live without you...
and now I don't even want to try.

I will never say goodbye...
despite how far away you get.
