and the world was blue...

Contributed by derwydd on Wednesday, 25th June 2003 @ 06:45:00 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

She opened her eyes,
opened them to observe
the height to which she had climbed.
Well bellow her perch, a city stirred,
wandering upon its accustomed nocturnal orbit.
She shivered as the wind touched her bare shoulders.
The loathed flood of memories stirred again,
bringing with it a sense of pain.
Her mind toyed with the intention
that had brought her here.
The night surrounded her,
and the world was blue...

Somewhere in the distance, a child awoke,
announcing with a clarion cry that he was hungry,
hungry for the milk he would never recieve.
She heard the longing in his voice.
He was alone, they were both alone,
wishing for all the world,
for the embrace of a single caring soul.
She turned her gaze to the sky,
and whispered a silent apostrophe.
The stars failed to reply,
and the world was blue...

With silent tears, He withdrew His scarred Hand.
Like so many others, she could not hear His soothing Voice,
could not feel His arms around her.
Like so many others, all of whom refused His Love.
Her feet wavered upon the edge of the roof,
made suddenly unsure by aprehension.
Gently, he reached out again,
hoping to bend her will to Life...

Slowly she turned, turned her back upon death.
And with trembling hands, whiped the tears from her eyes,
even as He wiped the years of hurt from her soul.
She walked to the door, still not feeling his embrace,
but no longer feeling,
that the world was blue...

What a great poem
-----------------------------------
if we all had a chance to shun
the terrible black death angel
hmo's would have to charge
addressing another angle.
