Southern Belle Blues

Contributed by Lady_bubbles420 on Wednesday, 25th June 2003 @ 12:45:00 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

Stand up straight
Shoulder back, chest out
Not that far out dear
They might think you are one of those "loose" women
Never forget to smile!
Remeber that you are a lady.

Hide the pain
Beneath the smile
Makeup is used
To hide the dirt on our hearts
Never dare to complain
Women don't have audible voices here.

Such are the teachings to a southern belle
The very picture of sophistication.
Grace comes natural
When we have to impress
Yet when the last visitor leaves
We let it all hang loose

We are the wild ones
Who dare to live two seperate lives
One lived under the sun
The life that pleases those around us
The true life lived under the cool moon
Where we dare to let our hearts rejoice and play

Your poem is great, it is written well
You can't fool us, tho a southern belle
We were trained by Sigmund Freud,
We will never, by a belle, be toyed.

We're back again to the sexes battle,
shake our heads, you do hear rattle
We're tired of the same old fight
If you wanna be right, you're right.....
