Dizzy Heart

Contributed by me on Sunday, 22nd June 2003 @ 10:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

I look your way
And see your eyes shining.
Warm smile, sincere,
And yet I doubt.
I don't believe.
So much in my head,
so many words,
telling me to run away,
not to trust,
not to fall and scrape my knees again.
And then my heart,
stupid heart,
dizzy heart,
drunk again,
yells, screams.
"Do it!" she cries.
"Tell him,
kiss him,
believe him,
fall in love you fool!"
I'm torn between two teachers,
two ways,
two voices,
one enticing, seductive, daring and drunk,
and one that's wise, safe, and painful.
Why must I look away
from those sparkling eyes?
Why must I ignore
the mouth I want to kiss?
Why must I fear falling?
What if none of this is real,
neither you, nor I, nor this feeling,
nor the two advisors, nor my fear...
What then? What do I do?

I absolutely love this one!! I wish to tell you to follow my heart but my head tells me........giggle, giggle.
The truth is life is full of risks - and though following your heart will probably steer you wrong just as often as listening to that voice in your head does, if you never follow your heart you never take that chance - and think of all you would miss out on. =)
Thanks for sharing -
juliette
