Please leave, your job is done

I see the way they look at me, I hear the words they say
I face their stares and whispers, every single day
I know what they are thinking, I know what they all see
They just don't seem to realise that there's so much more to me
I know that they are scared of me, of entering my mind
They're scared they'll have to see the truth, scared of what they'll find
What did I do wrong to deserve their hurtful words?
Don't they know I'm human, don't they know it hurts?
What gives them the right to say I'm crazy; it's not fair
My friends- they say they love me, but why do they not care?
Why do they not stop the lies, give me some respect?
They wonder why I hurt so much, what do they expect!
I hate who I am, but not 'cause of what they say
So they can stop, don't worry; the pain's now here to stay
I know that I am nothing, and unworthy of their time
But I like to sometimes leave that world. Is that such a crime?
I know that I am worthless and I'm better than no one
So now you see I hate myself, please leave, your job is done.

Wow,you have the gift of writing that is for sure.
This poem evoked the image of a beaten spirit I sincerely hope it is only fiction.

Wow......can you ever write!!!
Really excellent work!

this was very good u write about something that i am guilty of and I think we are all guilty of. you make the reader feel a lot of the pain of the person (you?) in this poem. Great job!

This poem is so very touching.. and so true... I wrote a poem once called, "Different, But Equal" for the children at my school....who used to make comments about and to the children at a school for the mentally and physically handicapped closeby... I think it helped them to accept these children as equals.....
Kudos to you for this great write..
Jenni
