She Feels Like a Girl

She put on lipstick this morning
She's never felt the need to do so
But this morning, for no reason she did
She is feeling like a girl
It scares her, though it shouldn't
She told her only love "I'm nervous"
"Why?" he inquired
"I'm afraid of giving life before my time"
"It'll be alright" he assured her
"I'm sorry, I guess I'm acting like a girl"
He just laughed and told her that he loved her
Maybe it's the sex that makes her feel this way
Maybe it's the fifteen pounds she has shed
Maybe it's her loneliness that gets her more emotional
But she feels like a girl
Which could be a good thing
Which should be a good thing
But she wants to feel like a woman
She wants to feel stronger, braver, more optimistic
I feel like a girl
Me
With this lipstick on my lips
Less fat on my hips
Love and worry in my heart
I feel like a girl
I want to feel more
