A rainy day

I held the gun up to my head
Thinking it better if I were dead
Then I thought of my little son
He would have thought, “What have I done?”
And to my wife
I would cause such strife
My friends would think
If only he would have seen a shrink
But I am not insane
Only my happiness slain
And as I thought of what I had done
I only saw my little son
May these thoughts now go away
So for him another day
When in life I go astray
I’ll think back to this rainy day.
