I once knew a man, he was me.

Contributed by forsakensoul on Friday, 20th June 2003 @ 04:35:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

I once knew a man
Saddened beyond tears
He was oh so alone
Solitude guided him through the years

I once knew a man, he was smart.
He would do anything to know it all
Truth was his mission
But he hid his emotions behind a very strong wall

I once knew a man, he was kind.
He would live in torture so others did not cry
But in so many ways
This kind man just wanted to die.

He held to kindness, honor and truth
Better to die than break his word
He was a wonderful man
He would live, serve, and die by the sword

But this man fell
To a depth he could never know
It seemed he would break every oath
And forget he had the emotions, he never let show.

He fell so far from getting high
Odd, it boosted his esteem and made him grow
But it was a bit of weed
That twisted him too wickedly to know

It let him be a child again
Let him enjoy himself at last
Let him accept himself
And let him forget his past

But it was a temporary thing
And finally when he was through
He left his honor behind
As the drug took what it had due

I once knew a man, he isn't me
I torture, cheat and lie
I want that lonely, sad, smart, and kind man back
He may have wanted to, but it is I who deserve to die.

This is an amazing write. My sisters boyfriend has been there and with help from us and his family he has come through it with only a few faint scars. He is now like a brother to me and treats my sister with all the respect she deserves. I believe if you put your heart and soul into it, the you too can come through this. Keep your head high, you do not deserve to die. Great write

No one deserves to die. But,yes, many of us have been there and made it out to talk about.
Many years of hard work are ahead of you if you have the will to survive! If you do...
then the strong, smart man you left behind will also. This was nicely done. You express your inner emotions and convey a desire to live! If you need a friend..."pm" me...I'd be glad
to help in any way I can!
Angel always..godspeed my friend! joni
